Our Mission
Blessing through Beauty
Benedictus Art seeks to be what a business should be and “serve the common good by striving to increase the goods of this world and to make them more accessible to all.” (Evangelii Gaudium, 203)
We do this in two ways. First, we provide a source for museum-quality artwork of the highest caliber. Second, regardless of the size of the project, we help our partners (schools, churches, organizations, and homes) to design their displays and create the story for their artwork so that the art serves to facilitate the achievement of each partner's mission and vision. Time and time again, our partner schools and churches remark that it is this second aspect that makes what we do so valuable to them.
In a world that yearns for the beautiful, our aim is to enable encounters with God through the contemplation of works of true beauty.

Project Design
Learn MoreBenedictus Art has over a decade of experience in designing art displays for projects of all shapes and sizes. Our primary clients are schools but we've designed all manner of projects for churches, hotels, offices, homes, and even monasteries.
We'll work with you to create a narrative that communicates your mission and vision as well as help you select pieces that further that mission and vision. Additionally, with your budget in mind, we'll offer recommendations on the best sizes and mounting options for your space. We even offer to-scale mockups that show you exactly what the desired artwork will look like on your walls. And rest assured, the final outcome always looks incomparably better than anything we can show you on a screen!

Presentations
Learn MoreWe're regularly asked to give presentations at schools and churches. Our most requested talk is "Praying with Art," an hour-long presentation that involves instruction on how to pray with art as well as an in-session experience of doing so. Please contact us if you're interested in an art-related presentation.
Guide for Selecting Art
1. Choose the Space

2. Choose the Art
Unless you already have a work of art in mind, with classical art, particularly sacred art, there should be two primary questions you ask yourself
when choosing pieces.
1. What are some of the major themes you recognize in your life that you would like to emphasize? This may take some thought and prayer but is well worth the effort. If you are the only one that frequents a particular space, the themes may be specific to you and your life at present. If you’re looking for art for a family space or other public space, a good practice is to emphasize and encourage themes common to that larger community.
2. Do the works you’re considering awaken and inspire your heart? There are thousands upon thousands of truly beautiful works of art and thus there are many that will address the particular life theme or themes you’re seeking to address. Find artwork to which your heart noticeably and affirmatively responds.
•If there is a piece of art you’d like that you can’t find on this site, please reach out and we’ll find it for you.
3. Choose the Format
Framed: Despite the higher cost, our framed option is by far the most popular choice. Each frame is custom-built for the art using the highest quality wood molding. The reproduction itself is printed on archival photo paper with a 13-color giclee printer to provide unmatched color quality. The print is then mounted to a 1/8” thick coated high-density fiberboard and then sealed behind a UV-protective laminate that is rated to protect from UV degradation for a minimum of 115 years. The laminate effectively waterproofs the print, removes the need for glass, and can be cleaned just like glass. Because there is no glass covering the print, there is little to no glare to obscure the art.

• Float: Like the framed art, our float-mounted art is created with the same photo paper, printing technique, and UV-protective laminate. However, it is meant to be displayed without a traditional frame as it has a box frame hidden behind the image which contains the hanging mechanism (French cleat). When hung the art will appear to be floating apart from the wall by about 3/4”, thus why we call it a “float” mount. In the case of the float mount, the print is mounted to a coated 3/8” high-density fiberboard with a beveled black edge that gives the art a completed look.

4. Choose the Size
-
Determine the best orientation for the art. Vertical spaces are better suited for art with a vertical orientation, horizontal spaces for art with a horizontal orientation.
2. It is generally recommended that a piece of art cover 60% - 75% of the space in which it’s displayed. To determine this number, measure the width and height of the space in inches and multiply the two numbers. Next multiply that number by .6 and you will have the square inch measurement required to fill 60% of your chosen space. Next to each size option we also show the square inch measurement so that you can be confident you’re choosing the right size. Don’t worry about being exact, either; being close enough counts.
3. If you’re getting a framed piece (our most popular option), remember that depending on the frame choice you’ll be adding 4” - 6” to each dimension of the artwork. For instance, if you choose an image size of 24” x 36” and want it framed with the Hudson Black and Gold frame, the total framed dimensions of the piece will be 30” x 42”.
